As a Senior Technical Officer, you will:

Support staff and students by providing technical assistance, training, and guidance across advanced materials testing, analytical tools, and laboratory equipment.

Help keep labs running smoothly by maintaining equipment, monitoring safety, calibrating tools, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Contribute to high‑quality teaching and research by assisting with documentation, experiment guides, SOPs, and the development of new lab activities.

Support broader technical operations, providing assistance across disciplines to help meet changing team demands

To be successful, you’ll have:

Relevant degree in Materials Engineering or related discipline, OR equivalent combination of relevant experience and training.

Demonstrated experience working in materials testing, materials science, or chemical/mechanical laboratory environments.

Experience operating and maintaining specialised equipment (e.g., SEM, DSC, profilometry, tensile testing systems).

Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, and support technical staff, students, or researchers.
