Description
Provides expertise in support of research projects in engineering, biology, mathematics, statistics, computer science, physics, etc. Prepares and edits research papers, proposal, and reports. Performs advanced testing procedures and analyses of data. May prepare samples for testing. Performs advanced testing procedure and performs analyses of data. Makes uses of a variety of specialized equipment typical within area of specialization. May contribute to grant proposal development. Ensures experiments are performed according to specifications. May make recommendations to changes in procedure, processes, or experimental design. Possesses, understands, and applies an advanced knowledge of a professional natural, physical, or engineering field or multiple fields of specialization to develop unique and new approaches or ideas. Understands and uses research tools and equipment and utilizes effective management techniques.
1. Plans and conducts research in one or more large and complex areas of specialization.
2. Reviews progress of projects. May liaison with other areas of specialization to obtain support or technical expertise for projects.
3. Defines procedures or processes to be used in the experimental processes.
4. May personally conduct important and/or technically complex investigations.
5. Operates with wide latitude for unreviewed action subject only to institutional policies and guidelines and ethical considerations.
6. Reviews and evaluates the effectiveness of personnel.
We are looking for a Sr. Researcher with experience in tumor immunology and/or neuroimmunology. The Sr. Researcher will be primarily responsible for conducting biomedical research and daily operation of the immunology core. This position will directly report to the laboratory PI, who is also the director of the Integrated Immunology Core at UH. The lab’s research is centered on tumor immunology and neuroimmunology, particularly T cell-related biology. We are seeking a candidate with solid experience on cancer biology and/or neuroimmunology, basic and translational immunology, and/or genetically modified animal models. This includes but not limits to, experience in molecular cloning, flow cytometry analyses and other immune related assays.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A PhD in Immunology or other fields with deep experience in testing the mechanism of novel immune therapy or the involvement of immune dysfunction in the pathogenesis of cancer and/or neurodegenerative diseases.
- At least 3-year post-doctoral experience
- With animal research experience
- Record of research accomplishments (Scientific publications on tumor immunology and/or neuroimmunology)
