STEM School Social Worker
Job Purposes
The Dayton Regional STEM School is looking for a Licensed Social Worker for the 2025-2026 school year to support students in grades K-12. This role is essential in advancing our mission to foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Ohio Social Work License (LSW or LISW required) by August 1st 2025
- Master's degree in social work or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with children and adolescents in school settings preferred
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed practices, equity in education, and restorative approaches
Essential Functions and percent of time
- Identify and assess student needs through observations, referrals, and data-driven practices. Provide direct support to students through individual and small-group counseling, crisis intervention, and social-emotional development – 65%
- Serve as a liaison between school and community agencies to connect families with mental health, housing, food security, and other wraparound resources – 30%
- Other duties as assigned that support the school's mission – 5%
Working Conditions
Special contract terms and conditions of employment apply. Length of contract is one year, renewable, contingent upon funding.
