Job Description

Nevada State University invites applications for the position of Student Employment and Outreach Coordinator. The Student Employment and Outreach Coordinator will support Student Financial Services by managing the university's Federal Work-Study and institutional student employment programs and coordinating outreach activities across all areas of student financial services. The position will promote student access and success through job placement support, budget monitoring, and the planning and delivery of events and presentations for students, families, and community partners.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Administer the university's Federal Work-Study and institutional student employment programs, including awarding, eligibility tracking, and budget monitoring.
  • Coordinate hiring processes and provide guidance to student employee supervisors and campus departments.
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct outreach events and presentations related to all areas of Student Financial Services.
  • Deliver presentations to students, families, and community partners to increase awareness of financial resources and promote student success.
  • Support financial aid operations during peak periods by assisting with application processing, book vouchers, and other related tasks.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in higher education, public administration, business, management, finance, information systems, or a related field; or a graduate degree in any field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in student financial services, financial aid, student employment, or a related area.
  • Experience planning or supporting outreach events, presentations, or communications for diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency using administrative systems such as PeopleSoft, Workday, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience administering Federal Work-Study or institutional student employment programs.
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations or workshops to students or community groups.
  • Familiarity with financial aid regulations, outreach strategies, and student engagement best practices.
  • Experience working with first-generation college students or diverse student populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple departments and external partners.

Salary & Benefits

Budgeted salary for this position is $61,553. Nevada State University offers excellent benefits, including 19.25% retirement match, 24 annual leave days, beginning balance of 30 sick leave days, 12 paid holidays, educational benefits, and three health insurance plans that can be supplemented with flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts.
