Are you passionate about creating safe, inclusive learning environments where every student can thrive? Macquarie University is seeking a Student Safety and Culture Officer to play a pivotal role in coordinating and delivering evidence-informed initiatives that address Gender-based Violence (GBV) prevention and promote a positive student safety culture.

This is a meaningful opportunity to contribute to real change in the higher education sector. Working within the Student Integrity and Culture team, you will support Macquarie University in meeting its obligations under the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-based Violence. Reporting to the Manager, Student Safety and Culture, you will collaborate with students, staff, external experts, survivors, and affected communities to build effective partnerships and deliver measurable outcomes.

About the Role

The Student Safety and Culture Officer provides coordination and support for evidence-informed student safety and culture initiatives, with a particular focus on GBV prevention education and training. Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the delivery of student safety and culture initiatives using diverse delivery methods, including education and training programs on complex harmful behaviours and GBV prevention.

  • Executing an 'always on' student safety and culture communications and engagement campaign in collaboration with marketing and communication stakeholders.
  • Preparing reports on program effectiveness, evaluation findings and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Providing secretariat and administrative support, including coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, briefing materials, and meeting documentation.
