Student Success Coach
SUNY Broome Community College is seeking its newest Student Success Coach to fill an in-person, full-time, tenure track 12-month position.
The Student Success Coach will work directly with first-time and returning students. The role of the Student Success Coach is to support new students in clarifying and choosing their path during their transition to SUNY Broome and provide tools and resources to prepare them for college. This will include: ensuring new students are in an academic program that aligns with their career goals via 1:1 or group coaching sessions and facilitating workshops for students as they acclimate to college life.
Additionally, the Student Success Coach will provide proactive, coordinated outreach during a student's enrollment to ensure they remain on their path to success. Student Success Coaches connect students with campus-wide resources and support services, and empower students to develop strategies for success. This will include: discussing goal setting; creating a plan to achieve identified goals; identifying barriers to academic success; and providing strategies for improving academic performance with ongoing encouragement and follow-up to stay on track to timely degree completion.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and one (1) year of full-time work experience with students, customers, or clients required OR;
- An Associate's degree in a relevant field and three (3) years of full-time work experience with students, customers, or clients required.
- Higher education experience, particularly in a community college setting is preferred.
- One-on-one or group coaching and/or workshop or presentation development experience preferred.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship.
The minimum annual salary for this position is $60,027. The salary will increase to $61,798 on September 1, 2026. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Offers of employment will be conditional based upon the results of a satisfactory, required pre-employment Standard Background Check.
