  • Location: Gardens Point (hybrid option available)

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Student Support Officer to join Faculty Operations, Faculty of Business and Law.

The Student Support Officer is responsible for ensuring students are supported throughout their higher education lifecycle. You will engage with students in different mediums and platforms, varying from face-to-face consultations, phone calls, emails, and events. The role provides direction and advice on QUT's Manual of Policies and Procedures (MOPP) specifically around Learning and Teaching polices and helping students navigate their way through our procedures when enquiring or applying for online applications around their enrolment, course progression, concessions etc. The faculty prides itself on taking a caring and welcoming approach to a diverse client group including students, staff, and other university divisions and departments. The appointee will work in a client service focused team environment providing administration and support to key stakeholders in a busy environment.

What you need to succeed

  1. Completion of a degree or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. 
  2. Demonstrated ability to provide a high standard of professional, client service in a busy client-orientated environment Including the ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and balance competing demands. 
  3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing needs. 
  4. Good written and oral communication skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. 
  5. Interpersonal skills which demonstrate the ability to liaise effectively with and provide excellent service to a diverse range of people in a professional manner while maintaining confidentiality. 
  6. Demonstrated ability to use intermediate functions of office technology software applications including Microsoft Office, e-mail, student/client management systems, social media, and databases.
