Student Tutor (Boys and Girls Club of Lanier) - Federal Work Study
Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student for the Boys and Girls Club of Lanier. This position will help club youth learn by reviewing content with them and explaining how to solve problems. Tutors also help in club youth development in study skills and organization techniques to help improve their academic performance. Tutors are responsible for supervising small groups of club youth, providing discipline, and serving as a role model.
Responsibilities
- Ensure lesson plan alignment with GSE and GADOE and school based units of study.
- Search, share, and incorporate project-based learning and stream activities from various resources in lesson planning.
- Implement daily and weekly schedule of small group tutoring during the afterschool and/or summer camp program year.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to have flexible schedule, Monday - Friday.
Required Qualifications
Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
Preferred Qualifications
Prefer education majors or related discipline.
