The Blinn College District is searching for a Student Worker - Disability Services and Counseling at our Brenham Campus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below:
Job Summary
To provide departmental support by performing routine clerical and/or service-oriented tasks such as data entry, answering phones, providing customer service, making copies, scanning documents and performing other duties as assigned.
The Student Worker should model strong leadership characteristics such as professional and personal responsibility, a positive attitude, enthusiasm, professionalism, commitment, integrity, good time management, communication skills, and a willingness to learn and work as a team member.
Principal Accountabilities
- Greet students, faculty, administrators and campus visitors
- Provide information pertaining to the academic accommodations process
- Answer telephone calls
- Confidentially scan disability documentation
- Provide front desk coverage
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications
- Must be federal work study eligible
- Must be a full-time student at Blinn College (this includes all campuses and Distance Education courses)
- Must be able to work 10-19 hours per week
Minimum Competencies
- Basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel
- Ability to interact professionally with students, parents, faculty and administrators
- Must be in good academic standing (have/maintain a 2.00 GPA throughout your term of employment) and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours each term of employment
- Demonstrate good clerical and communication skills, and display the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Ability to keep all student information confidential
- Must be punctual (arrive to work on time)
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum six (6) months experience as a student worker or office aid
- Advance computer skills on Microsoft Office programs
Preferred Competencies
Experience working with students that have a learning, physical or psychological disability
Special Notes To Applicants Maximum of 19 hours per week
