"Substitute Teacher, Nursery - 8th Grade"

Substitute Teacher for Nursery - Eighth Grade classrooms

Start Date: ASAP

Schedule: 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM on days when needed

Pay Rate: $20/hour

Responsibilities:

• Collaborating with other colleagues and educators in support of the children being covered
• Meeting and instructing assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated
• Maintaining a classroom environment conducive to effective learning
• Supervising lunch, rest, and/or recess
• Helping with set up, clean up, and some clerical work
• Taking all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, materials, equipment, and facilities
• Abiding by school regulations for health and safety during the 2023-2024 school year during the pandemic (ex: mask wearing, distancing)
• Substitutes specializing in Elementary Music, Physical Education, Art, Spanish, Library, and Movement are also needed.
• All teachers help build a collaborative, cooperative, and reflective approach to working as a classroom teaching team.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma required and Bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience managing a classroom and teaching children preferred
• Experience with progressive education preferred
• Willingness to collaborate and work as part of a team, as well as develop skills in working with individual children, small groups, and the whole class
