The Opportunity
UniSC is currently seeking administration support in our Graduate Research School. As a GRS Administrator, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless quality of managing candidature, overseeing thesis examinations, and facilitating completions. As the primary contact for the Graduate Research School (GRS), you'll collaborate closely with stakeholders across the university, offering expert guidance on all aspects of HDR candidature management and postgraduate research scholarships (PGRS). This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about supporting the academic journey of our students.
You will:
- provide administrative support to ensure the quality of smooth progression, thesis examinations, and successful completions;
- assist in developing and improving systems and processes that promote efficient and effective HDR administration for all stakeholders; and
- offer guidance to stakeholders on all aspects of candidature progression, thesis examinations, completions, and Postgraduate Research Scholarships (PGRS).
About you:
You're someone who enjoys supporting HDR candidature progression, thesis examination, and PGRS processes with care and attention to detail. You collaborate well with stakeholders, especially Student Services and Engagement and UniSC International, to ensure HDR student management runs smoothly. With a solid understanding of university policies and procedures, your work aligns well with our standards. You're diligent with record management, keeping everything accurate and up to date. You're also comfortable preparing data and reports as needed, and in our evolving environment, you're ready to take on additional duties within your skill set to support our team.
To be successful you will possess:
- Strong oral and written communication skills for effectively explaining administrative requirements and preparing clear, concise materials.
- Ability to work independently and within teams, using initiative and judgment to solve problems.
- Advanced organisational and troubleshooting abilities, with the capacity to prioritise conflicting demands and meet deadlines.
- Sound judgment, confidentiality, and discretion in handling sensitive matters.
- Proficient computer literacy, including using and maintaining electronic databases, generating reports, analysing data, and maintaining webpages.
