About the opportunity
The Office of DVC Education has a newly created role for a Senior Program Officer to enhance placement processes across the university's Schools and Faculties.
As the Senior Program Officer within the Sydney ConnectEd program, you will have the opportunity to work closely to support faculty and school teams through project support and system specialist advice, ensuring effective implementation across the university’s placement management processes.
By enhancing support structures, processes and providing system support for the university's placement teams, you will significantly improve the use and effectiveness of Sonia, the university's placement management system.
Reporting to the Project Manager, your key responsibilities will be to:
- collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and multiple project stakeholders across the university
- develop comprehensive and accurate resources to support end users and ensure compliance with policy
- provide non-technical user support and guidance to help improve efficiency and compliance, including providing training to build team capability
- generate detailed project activity reports and implement changes to ensure progress towards milestones
- work closely with ICT and other central stakeholders in planning and problem solving around placement management systems and processes.

- experience supporting placements in a university setting
- extensive experience using SONIA or similar placement management systems and a demonstrated aptitude for learning new systems and processes
- demonstrated experience in project coordination and managing multiple stakeholders
- experience in providing quality service in customer focused environments and in training others
- proven ability to identify and articulate business improvement opportunities through reporting and project documentation
- highly developed organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- experience working in a policy and compliance impacted role.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the reasons for the position.
