Position Summary
The Concepcion laboratory at Columbia University Irving Medical Center seeks a full-time research technician (Technician B) to join a research team focused on understanding epigenetic deregulation in lung cancer. The research technician will provide basic research support to a growing team and assist in the execution, analysis, and interpretation of experiments spanning molecular biology, 2D and organoid culture systems, epigenomic technologies, and genetically engineered mouse models of lung cancer. This is an ideal position for a highly motivated individual seeking to gain research experience in a cancer biology lab.
Responsibilities
- Assist lab members with research activities including:
- Mouse colony maintenance and management
- Sample collection and processing
- Chromatin profiling techniques
- Tissue culture (2D and organoid culture systems)
- Histology
- Protocol troubleshooting
- Data analysis and interpretation
- Maintain lab notebooks and records related to the work
- Operate and maintain common lab equipment
- Assist in general lab organization and inventory maintenance
- Prepare written and oral progress reports
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1 year of related laboratory experience
- Experience in mouse work and studies using mouse models
- Experience in related laboratory procedures and techniques (e.g. molecular biology, mammalian cell culture, genomics & epigenomics)
- Excellent scientific and interpersonal communication skills
- Highly organized
- Team player

Salary Range: $55,112.05-$55,112.05
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
