Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and meticulous individual with previous research experience to serve as a Research Technician (Tech B) in the Taub Institute for Research on Alzheimer’s Disease and the Aging Brain. Our research investigates cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration, biochemical approaches, cellular and mouse models, and advanced microscopy.

Responsibilities

• Perform experiments, including iPSC-derived neuronal culture, primary neuronal culture, immunoblotting, immunohistochemistry, and a range of molecular biology and biochemistry techniques -75%
• Perform lab duties, including ordering supplies and reagents, preparing solutions, organizing reagents (DNA constructs, antibodies, viral aliquots, etc.), coordinating waste pickup and equipment maintenance, etc.- 25%
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, neuroscience, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior hands-on laboratory experience in a research lab.
• Background in biology or neuroscience research.
• Experience with cell culture; familiarity with primary and/or iPSC-derived neuronal culture is a plus.
• Experience with immunoblotting and/or ELISA.
