Geneva College invites applications for a full-time, tenure track Education Faculty position in the Department of Education. The position begins August 2026 and is available for on-campus instruction for education classes in both Fall and Spring semesters. This position will remain open until filled.

Summary of Responsibilities:
This position teaches classes in a variety of areas which could include classroom management, special education, methodology courses, and field experience courses. The individual in this role must demonstrate a strong commitment to Christian higher education.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Teach twelve contact hours per semester.
- Adequately prepare all course materials and lessons (Note: preparation time will vary based on instructor experience in teaching that course).
- Provide each student with clear course expectations, evaluations, and timelines through carefully written topical outlines and approved syllabus per faculty established guidelines.
- Provide interesting and relevant assignments for students that demonstrate learning outcomes in a real-life setting.
- Suitably challenge, engage, support, and communicate with students to encourage their participation and learning while maintaining mutual value and respect.
- Provide timely grades to students through college software and upload mid-term and final grades by college deadlines.
- Respond to student questions on a timely basis.
- Ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus.

Qualifications:
Minimum:
- Education/Certification: A Ph.D. or Ed.D. in an Education field and a current, valid teaching license for any grade level or subject area. The committee will consider candidates who will complete the Ph.D. within a year of appointment.
- Experience: At least 3 years of classroom experience K-12 teaching.
- Skill/Abilities: Student-centered, innovative educator who works well in a team; Expected to be engaged beyond the classroom.
- Christian Commitment: An eligible candidate must be a thoughtful and articulate Christian and an active member of a Protestant evangelical Christian church. Preference will be given to the candidate who supports and has an articulate understanding of the Reformed faith. An eligible candidate must understand and support the College’s “Foundational Concepts of Christian Education” by expressing an evangelical Christian profession of faith and demonstrate the ability to integrate a Christian perspective in their work.
Preferred:
- Education/Certification: A Ph.D. or Ed.D. with a current, valid teaching license that includes multiple areas of licensure including Special Education PK-12 or N-12 special education
- Experience: Previous higher education teaching experience preferred
- Skill/Abilities: same as the minimum listed above
