Term Faculty (Non-Tenure Track) - AUSL Lincoln Park Campus (26-27)
The Special Education and Reading program at DePaul University seeks to fill a full time, non-tenure track faculty position in Special Education to teach in undergraduate and masters level special education programs. The appointment will begin September 1, 2026 and go through June 30, 2027. Applications will be accepted immediately, and the position will remain open until filled.
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and masters level special education courses in face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online formats, possibly including courses at the University Center in Lake County. Additional responsibilities include faculty advising, contributing to initiatives to enhance special education programs and active participation in College, Department, and Special Education Program meetings. We seek an individual who shares our vision of becoming the preferred provider of special education programming in the Chicago area, with a commitment toward increasing the educational outcomes for students with disabilities as well as addressing issues of inequity in special education.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- A doctorate in Special Education or a closely related field, however candidates with a masters degree in Special Education and extensive teaching experience will also be considered.
- Expertise in theory and practice related to teaching reading or mathematics to exceptional learners.
- Expertise in instruction and differentiation in special education, assessment, and assistive technology.
Preferred qualifications include prior experience with:
- applied practice in K-12 settings.
- university level teaching.
- online or hybrid teaching in higher education.
- practicum or student teaching supervision.

General Compensation/Benefits Statement
DePaul University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the qualifications, education, experience, and training of the selected candidate, the scope and responsibilities of the position, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information. The salary range for this 10-month position is $62,700 - $65,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
