Theater Instructor "All the World's a Stage" Production - Cape Cod Community College
General Statement of Responsibilities
Develop curriculum for and instruct new theater course that encourages self-expression, builds confidence, and enhances social skills through the transformative power of theater. Students will engage in storytelling, improvisation, role-playing, and collaborative performances, discovering their unique voices while participating in an enriching, hands-on experience. Students should have the opportunity to develop physical, emotional, and cognitive skills through fun, interactive activities tailored to their individual abilities. They will also explore key aspects of theater such as stage presence, character development, movement, voice work, and teamwork, all while fostering creativity, self-esteem, and collaboration in a safe and supportive setting. The course will culminate in a final performance, where students can showcase their growth, creativity, and teamwork.
Examples of Duties
- Develop curriculum for newly developed theater course.
- Focus on teaching self-expression, communication, and social skills through drama.
- Create personalized activities to accommodate diverse abilities.
- Facilitate a final performance to showcase individual and group achievements.
- Consult and co-plan with colleagues when needed.
- Attend staff meetings as scheduled.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience teaching Theater, Drama or other related experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team player with students and Project Forward staff.
- Proficiency in oral and written communication.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including typing, storing/retrieving computer files, completing an online timesheet, tutorials, etc.
- Valid MA Driver's License.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including typing, storing/retrieving computer files, completing an online timesheet, tutorials, etc.
Additional Information
Compensation: $35.31 per hour, 2.25 hours per week (inclusive of Instruction and Prep time) during the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 Semesters. Part-time, non-benefited, MCCC Unit Position
