Tutor in Criminology
Job Summary: As a Tutor in Criminology at Erasmus School of Law, you will guide bachelor students in criminological issues using problem-guided learning (PGL), a method where students actively acquire knowledge through discussions.
Responsibilities: Facilitate student discussions to ensure depth and coverage of relevant material; provide stimulating questions and examples; monitor group progress; and inspire academic thinking while acting as a scientific lecturer close to students.
Qualifications: Possess a Bachelor's and Master's in Criminology (or equivalent within 3 months of starting); demonstrate enthusiasm and passion for criminology; excel in oral communication in Dutch; have affinity with law subjects; and possess both qualitative and quantitative research skills. Experience in group facilitation is preferred.
Requirements: Be able to steer results, maintain group progress, and communicate effectively.
What the Employer Offers: A 0.5 FTE contract for one year, potentially extendable; training in PGL and other development opportunities like the basiskwalificatie onderwijs (BKO); salary between €3546 and €5538 per month based on full-time; benefits including 8% vacation pay, 8.3% end-of-year bonus, pension contributions, work-life balance support, and access to sports facilities and career development programs.
