Organization Overview

The new Diagnostic and Treatment Center (D&TC) will be named the "Rockefeller University Clinical Research Center" (RCRC). The University remains committed to its mission of improving the understanding of science for the benefit of humanity through both clinical and basic research in a diverse range of biological and biomedical issues. The outpatient D&TC reflects the evolution in clinical research to outpatient studies.

Overview

Reporting to the Executive Director and/or Nursing Manager, the Unit Clerk provides broad support to patients, families, staff, and researchers. The Unit Clerk acts as a liaison for patient care coordination, customer service, first-level EMR system support, and strong alignment with RU’s mission, vision, and nursing philosophy in the Diagnostic and Treatment Center (D&TC).

Responsibilities

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assists clinical leadership with the coordination of patient care services.
  • Provides directions, secure resources, and addresses service concerns.
  • Supports electronic storage/retrieval of patient records and orders.
  • Offers first-level system support to researchers and staff, including general IT troubleshooting (device connectivity, logins, tickets, equipment).
  • Delivers strong customer service.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • A HS Diploma, or equivalent, is required.
  • Must possess at least one (1) year of related research experience.
  • Position requires in-person, onsite presence.
  • Compliance with HIPAA is required.
  • Must be proficient in computer platforms, including MS Office Suite. Strong interpersonal skills for cross-team collaboration are required. Must have the highest level of discretion to handle confidential information.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and work with diplomacy and efficiency in a high-demand, dynamic research environment. Must have a passion for excellent customer service and commitment to exceptional quality.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, along with attention to detail, are essential. Initiative and self-motivation are critical.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of medical terminology is highly desired.
  • Prior experience in an academic or research institution is strongly preferred.

Compensation Range: Min USD $47,000.00/Yr. - Max USD $47,000.00/Yr.
