Vice President of Business & Administration
GENERAL SUMMARY
Serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet and as one of three Vice Presidents with college-wide, cabinet level responsibilities. Manages, facilitates and coordinates business office, facilities, auxiliary services and information technology. Serves as the Chief Fiscal, Business and Risk Management Officer for the College to ensure compliance with accounting, fiscal, legal and safety standards and practices as set forth by outside entities including federal, state, and local. Leads facilities and IT master planning. Represents the College to outside entities within the service area, regionally and state-wide on the college financial position. They also maintain liaison with industry and organizations to facilitate business transactions and enhance accessibility of community resources for students. This position is responsible for all expenditures, budget, and serves as the liaison between the college and the local taxing districts, state organizations, and federal organizations concerning budget and fiscal matters.

PRIMARY DUTIES
- Provides overall strategic leadership for College financial functions with guidance from the CNCC President.
- Provides primary leadership, direction, and support for CNCC on a day-to-day basis under the guidance of the President with special emphasis and focus on budget and financial reporting.
- Guides the strategic vision and financial operations of the College in collaboration with the President and other Vice Presidents.
- Creates the annual budget in collaboration with all departments throughout the college.
- Ensures compliance with SBCCOE, CDHE, Department of Education and CNCC polices as they apply to financial issues for the College.
- Leads facilities and I.T. master planning, resource attainment and project management.
- Oversee the budget and financial activities in collaboration with the controller.
- Overseeing all facilities college wide in collaboration with facilities leadership, including maintenance, fleet, and custodial.
- Oversee all I.T., college wide in collaboration with I.T. leadership.
- Implement policies and deploy procedures through Safety and I.T. personnel to protect students, faculty, staff and visitors from physical, digital and environmental threats.
- Liaison with CCCS finance, business, audit, legal and safety leadership for the purpose of risk management and compliance.
- Oversee all auxiliary services in collaboration with the business office and housing personnel.
- Oversee and is responsible for all contracts.
- Provide college wide leadership for facilities, financial operations, human resources, and information technology.
- Assures compliance with governmental accounting principles and the CCCS rules and regulations.
- Monitor and direct monthly, quarterly and year end processes and entries to ensure everything has been done accurately and within the guidelines provided by the state and federal regulations.
- Review monthly financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Review and approval reconciliations, control reports, and budget adjustments.
- Serves with the President and other members of Cabinet as the liaison for the college with the Rangely Junior College District Board and the Moffatt County Affiliated Junior College Board of Control.
- Attend and actively participate in system wide business officers’ meetings.
- Facilitates and fosters open communication and positive working relationships with all college departments.
- Performs other duties as assigned by President.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
This job requires any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and/or experience as indicated below.
Education and Training
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or other related area
- A minimum of three years’ experience and supervisory experience in one or more of the following: Administration
- I.T. and/or facilities
- Spreadsheet and financial report experience
Other Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with faculty and staff members.
- Evaluate systems that reward innovation, team accomplishment and measurable outcomes.
- Provide succession planning processes for college leadership.
- Microsoft software knowledge including Word and Excel
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Training
- Master’s degree in accounting or related field and/or CPA
- College-level experience
- Five (5) years’ experience in finance
- Experience with BANNER and/or CORE software or similar large, complex software applications
