Job Summary/Basic Function
The Wheaton College (MA) Department of Psychology and Neuroscience invites applications for a two-year Visiting Assistant Professor position beginning July 1, 2026. We seek an educator with teaching experience able to teach across our curriculum to work with a group of enthusiastic and engaged faculty dedicated to the preparation of undergraduate students.
This is a full-time, renewable position focused on excellence in undergraduate teaching and pedagogical innovation. Visiting Assistant Professors receive initial one-year contracts that can be renewed.
Teaching responsibilities include three courses per semester. The candidate will teach general Psychology courses, such as Introduction to Psychology and Research Methods, as well as courses from across our broader curriculum, including an upper-division course in the candidate’s area of specialization. Candidates who are able to contribute courses to our sociocultural offerings (e.g., Social Psychology, Multicultural Psychology, Global Psychology, Psychology of Women, or Psychology of Race and Discrimination) are especially encouraged to apply.

Minimum Qualifications
A PhD in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a closely related field is required. Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated hiring or recruitment range for this position is $45,000 – $55,000. The salary for this position will be commensurate with the qualifications, education and experience of the candidate.
