The Department of Business Administration in the College of Business at Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) invites applications for a 9-month faculty position in Healthcare Administration, beginning August 18, 2025. The position is available at the Visiting Professor level, as a non-tenure-track with a typical teaching load of six courses per academic year.

We are seeking a dynamic faculty member committed to advancing the College’s growing Healthcare Administration programs. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. While applicants from any business-related discipline are welcome, practical experience in healthcare administration is strongly preferred.

The appointment is to begin August 18, 2025. Required qualifications include Ph.D. or equivalent in Healthcare Management or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education, qualifying the candidate as a Scholarly Academic by AACSB standards by time of appointment. A record of scholarly activity; a record of effective teaching using a variety of methods; and teaching experience at the college level in the field of Healthcare Administration. While specialization is open, ideal candidates will have knowledge of different fields within the department. Required Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. or equivalent in Healthcare Administration, Healthcare Management, or a closely related field from an accredited institution (degree must meet AACSB Scholarly Academic qualifications by time of appointment).
  • A record of scholarly activity, including peer-reviewed publications.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching using varied instructional methods.
  • Evidence of effective communication and collaboration with diverse student and professional populations.
  • College-level teaching experience in Healthcare Administration or a closely related field.

Preferred/Desirable Qualifications:

We are especially interested in candidates who bring one or more of the following attributes:

  • Practical field experience in healthcare administration, including familiarity with operational and leadership roles.
  • Experience in healthcare insurance, value-based care, or accountable care organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster relationships with external stakeholders, including healthcare providers and industry partners.
  • A commitment to student recruitment and retention, particularly for Healthcare Administration majors.
  • Engagement in professional development activities that support the mission and goals of the College of Business.
