Governors State University is seeking to hire a Web Developer IV position as a pivotal member of the ITS team, responsible for administering, developing, and supporting GovState's digital platforms. This role oversees the technical systems behind the public website, MyGSU portals, and several enterprise applications. Additionally, the position serves as a backup administrator for other critical systems.
Essential Responsibilities
60% Technical Lead for all Internet/Web-delivered Content
• Administer, manage, and maintain on-premises and cloud-based web publication systems, including public websites, internal websites, portals, and content management systems.
• Serves as a technical administrator for the public Drupal/Acquia website, installing and updating modules, configuring and maintaining functionality, and making any configuration changes or modifications as needed. Administers all production and test environments.
• Designs, develops, tests, and deploys custom web programming solutions developed in industry-standard high-level programming languages as needed by stakeholders.
• Work with end-users to recommend and implement modifications and enhancements for both the portal and the site. Provide training for both portal and website content contributors.
• Serves as a technical administrator for the Microsoft SharePoint portal sites. Manages access, performs required maintenance, and ensures the continued availability of all system functions.
• Manages and maintains secondary web and content publication systems, including auxiliary websites and any other web content publication systems.
25% Technical Lead for Secondary Systems
• Design, implement, train end-users, maintain server system software and database connectivity, troubleshoot technical issues, and develop backup and disaster recovery restoration procedures for the university's document imaging system, Hyland Perceptive Content.
• Maintain and support the event scheduling system, CollegeNet 25Live, including user access, feature integrations, and user functionality in coordination with the Events Office.
• Serves as a backup to the Database Administrator, assisting in maintenance, troubleshooting, and management of Microsoft SQL database servers.
10% - Project Team Participant: The role of a project team member requires the incumbent to fully participate in the development and implementation of projects. This role encompasses all tasks that can be reasonably associated with it, including, but not limited to, the essential items listed below.
• Participates in project team meetings.
• Contributes technical and functional expertise.
• Performs project tasks as needed.
• May be required to plan, lead, and monitor projects related to application and interface development.
5% - Other Duties as Assigned: All team members are expected to contribute towards the institutional mission and the departmental goals. Part of this responsibility includes performing technical and functional tasks, taking on additional temporary duties, and participating in cross-training exercises to expand one's capabilities and perform additional duties.
• Monitoring systems, applications, and services as required.
• Stay well-informed regarding technological developments.
• Writes reports, recommendations, and performs technical analysis as requested.
• Participates in and attends training events, seminars, conferences, and meetings in representation of the institution.
• Writes and submits change requests and advisories in compliance with the departmental change control processes.
• Utilize help desk ticketing software to track, respond to, and document issues reported by end-users.
Salary Range: $82,608.00 - $95,000.
This is a non-unionized position.
This is a full-time, on-campus position.
Days and hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a 60-minute unpaid lunch
This position may require after-hours and weekend work in the event of critical system outages or to perform maintenance and modifications.

Required and Preferred Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
2. Five years of demonstrable, hands-on experience in Web development using one or more of the following languages:
- PHP
- C# and.NET
- HTML
- JavaScript
- CSS
3. Application support experience for:
- Drupal CMS
- Microsoft Office365
- Microsoft Visual Studio
Desired qualifications:
• Experience supporting technology in higher education settings.
• Experience developing and managing Acquia DXP websites using Site Studio software.
• Working knowledge of structured query language (SQL), including writing queries and reviewing data design elements.
• Experience participating in projects, including implementations and deployments.
