Windows System Administrator I
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Windows System Administrator I to support and maintain our IT infrastructure. This role will primarily focus on managing Windows-based systems, with additional responsibilities in automation, Apple macOS administration, and VMware virtualization. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a passion for optimizing system performance through automation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Windows Administration: Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server and client operating systems. Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, and system security updates.
- Automation & Scripting: Develop and implement automation scripts using PowerShell or other scripting languages to streamline system tasks and improve efficiency.
- Apple macOS Support: Provide configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting support for Apple devices, including integration with enterprise systems.
- Application Deployment: Manage and deploy applications across Windows and macOS environments using tools like SCCM, Intune, or JAMF.
- VMware Management: Assist in managing VMware environments, including virtual machine deployment, resource allocation, and performance optimization.
- System Monitoring & Maintenance: Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply patches and updates as needed.
- User Support & Documentation: Assist end-users with technical issues, document solutions, and maintain system-related documentation.
- Backup & Recovery: Support data backup, disaster recovery planning, and ensure business continuity procedures are in place.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) with 1-3 years of experience in Windows system administration.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Windows 10/11.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation tools. Familiarity with macOS administration, including device management and software deployment.
- Basic experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and virtualization concepts.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP).
- Experience with patch management and security best practices.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Certifications, Licenses, Restrictions:
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSA, Azure Fundamentals).
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of enterprise management tools such as SCCM, Intune, or JAMF.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and compliance standards.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: sit, walk, stand, use hands to handle equipment, operate computers, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to: reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to: stoop, climb, and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.
