Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit:

This position is assigned to the Community Engagement Team, with significant responsibility to the Center for Workforce Development within the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS). The Center for Workforce Development (CWD) reports to the CHHS Assistant Dean for Community Engagement and is a support unit that provides external continuing education and professional development programming, student experiential learning opportunities, and special workforce development programming to support to all the units of the CHHS.

The College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) is an interdisciplinary and integrated academic unit that includes three professional schools: the School of Nursing, the School of Social Work, and the School of Health and Applied Human Sciences. The Community Engagement Team is responsible for ensuring that center resources, external relationships, and community-based grants are well managed, monitored and ensure that appropriate service is provided to our internal and external customers.

Brief Summary of Work for this Position:

This position supports training and workforce development programming for the College of Health and Human Services through the Office of Community Engagement & Health Equity. It provides consultation, technical assistance, and project management for Continuing Professional Education (CPE), mentorship, and interprofessional education (IPE) initiatives. This position provides support and project management on a wide range of initiatives, including program development, marketing, event/facilities coordination, program delivery, evaluation, and budget management.

Mentor Program & Interprofessional Education

  • Coordinate the MentorCHHS program, events, and mentor/mentee matching.
  • Serve as main contact for mentors, students, and faculty coordinators.
  • Provide technical assistance and marketing support for mentorship and workforce-focused activities.

Center for Workforce Development and Interprofessional Education Programming

  • Build and manage workforce development partnerships and contracts.
  • Support evaluation, needs assessments, and strategic planning.
  • Assist with interprofessional education initiatives, event management, communications, promotion materials and reporting.

Continuing Professional Education Support

  • Design, develop, and evaluate CPE offerings and community-engaged courses.
  • Manage CPE in the LMS/registration system and maintain affiliate database.
  • Provide project management and support for faculty and subject matter experts.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Master's degree in a health and human services or related field.
  • Prior experience with program development, management/coordination, and evaluation.
  • Previous experience working with health-related agencies and subject matter experts including faculty.
  • Proficient in Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas.
  • A minimum of at least one year of professional experience in workforce development, nonprofit, education, public health, or similar sector.
  • Proficiency in MS Office including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Knowledge of project management, adult and online learning principles, and program evaluation.
