Ad Agency Director - Center for Entrepreneurship
JOB DESCRIPTION
This is a supervisory position responsible for providing leadership in planning, executing, and managing integrated marketing campaigns for athletics, fine arts, and other campus events while coordinating closely with University Marketing Communications to ensure brand alignment and maximize reach. Oversees agency operations, client relationships, and student development while ensuring alignment with the mission of the Arnold Center for Entrepreneurship and experiential learning goals. Works under general supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs (Entrepreneurship).
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising, entrepreneurship, business or a related field is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
Five years of related experience is required. Experience in managing marketing or communications initiatives is required. Experience with overseeing projects or campaigns across multiple stakeholders is required. Supervisory experience is required. Professional work experience in higher education marketing and/or intercollegiate athletics environment is preferred. Experience with NIL-related marketing or student-athlete content is preferred. Agency, in-house creative team, or event marketing experience is preferred.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Plans and executes integrated marketing campaigns for Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) initiatives and campus events with an emphasis on athletics, fine arts, and student engagement.
- Translates event goals into actionable marketing deliverables across digital, social, and on-site platforms.
- Supports timeline development, project tracking, content schedules, documentation, and campaign rollouts.
- Develops and manages assigned budgets.
- Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates assigned staff, including student employees.
- Provides day-to-day guidance, task delegation, and feedback to student employees in areas such as social media, content creation, event promotion, and basic design.
- Fosters a professional, experiential learning environment aligned with the mission of the Arnold Center for Entrepreneurship (ACE).
- Supports NIL-related marketing initiatives by coordinating content creation, promotional campaigns, and student-athlete brand amplification efforts.
- Works with student-athletes, coaches, and university partners to promote approved NIL activities in compliance with institutional and conference guidelines.
- Educates student employees and collaborators on NIL best practices and branding expectations.
- Utilizes the Volume Studio to market the university.
- Oversees the creation, scheduling, and optimization of digital content across social media, web, and email platforms.
- Monitors engagement metrics and provides post-campaign reporting.
- Serves as a primary liaison between the ACE Ad Agency, University Marketing Communications, athletics, fine arts, and other campus partners.
- Coordinates approvals, asset sharing, and messaging alignment to ensure brand consistency.
- Participates in planning meetings with internal stakeholders to align promotional strategies.
- Supports promotional efforts for campus events, including pre-event marketing, on-site activation, and post-event follow-up.
- Assists with signage, digital displays, promotional materials, and social media coverage during events.
- Supports basic graphic design, photography, video coordination, and copywriting as needed.
- Provides on-site support during select evening or weekend events as needed.

- Knowledge and understanding of NIL concepts, student-athlete branding, and higher education athletics culture.
- Knowledge of social media platforms, content trends, and student engagement strategies.
- Working knowledge of university branding standards and approval processes.
- Skill in creating and scheduling social media content.
- Skill in basic graphic design, video, and multimedia coordination.
- Skill in using computer applications including spreadsheet, database, and word processing software.
- Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate programs.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to set priorities and complete assignments on time.
- Ability to apply creativity while operating within brand and compliance guidelines.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
- Ability to provide support for student development with a demonstrable concern for students.
- Ability to manage a budget and work within the constraints of that budget.
- Ability to train and supervise others.
- Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
