Adjunct Faculty – Occupational Therapy

The Department of Occupational Therapy at Chatham University invites applications for adjunct faculty positions to support teaching needs across our entry-level (ELOTD) and post-professional (PPOTD) doctoral programs. Adjunct faculty play an important role in advancing the mission of the department through high-quality teaching and learner support in both on-campus and online formats.

We are seeking experienced occupational therapy professionals with diverse backgrounds to contribute to the delivery of innovative, learner-centered education in a range of subject areas related to occupational therapy theory, practice, policy, and research. Teaching assignments will vary based on departmental needs and faculty expertise and may include didactic courses, lab instruction, capstone mentorship, and/or course development support.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver course instruction in alignment with established learning outcomes and program competencies in assigned content areas.
  • Provide timely, formative, and summative feedback to support student success.
  • Support curriculum development, assessment, and course revisions as appropriate.
  • Participate in adjunct faculty onboarding and attend program meetings as requested.
  • Foster a learning environment that supports the program’s and the university’s mission and values.
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards aligned with accreditation requirements and licensure expectations.

Qualifications:

  • An earned master’s or doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field (OTD, PhD, EdD, DSc, DrOT, DHSc, etc.)
  • Current NBCOT certification and eligibility for licensure as an occupational therapist in Pennsylvania
  • A minimum of one year of professional experience as an occupational therapist
  • Prior teaching or mentoring experience in academic or clinical settings preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more areas relevant to OT education (e.g., adult rehabilitation, mental health, pediatrics, leadership, research, health equity, assistive technology, policy, occupational science, etc.)
  • Commitment to student-centered teaching, inclusive pedagogy, and professional development
