Department Profile: The automotive technology department offers a general ASE track, as well as dedicated Ford ASSET and GM ASEP training paths. Faculty prepare students for ASE certifications and manufacturer specialty certifications, with availability to teach during the day, evening, and weekends.

Job Duties

All faculty shall maintain currency in their disciplines, check communications regularly, and maintain student confidentiality. Faculty assigned classes must teach all scheduled classes, provide student progress feedback, submit required records and grades, and ensure a safe learning environment.

Minimum Qualifications

Hold current ASE certifications in G1 and A6, have professional automotive repair experience within the last 5 years, and possess a Bachelor's degree with two years of professional experience or an Associate degree with six years of professional experience. Demonstrate understanding and sensitivity to diverse student needs.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and active membership in a collision industry trade organization like I-CAR or ASE.

Supplemental Information

Physical Demands: Requires ambulatory ability, hand-eye coordination, visual and auditory acuity, and occasional lifting of objects under 30 lbs.

Conditions of Employment: Assignments may include day, evening, and weekend classes. Candidates must provide proof of California residency and eligibility to work in the United States.
