Adjunct Instructor (Lecturer 10), Non-Tenure Track, Part-time - Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics, College of Engineering and Applied Sciences
Stony Brook University’s Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics (AMS) invites applicants to apply for multiple non-tenure track teaching adjunct positions (part-time) with an expected start date of Fall 2026.
The selected candidate must hold a master's degree by the appointment start date and have two years of teaching experience in statistics and/or probability. They should have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching. They should be committed to fostering inclusivity and respect, valuing diverse perspectives, and upholding integrity and fairness in statistics and probability education.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in applied mathematics, mathematics, or a related field in hand by appointment date. Two (2) years of teaching experience in statistics and/or probability. Ability to teach effectively at all undergraduate levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional years of teaching experience in statistics and probability. Strong background in statistics and probability. Experience teaching and managing large classes with enrollments of students (150-250). Experience using software for online course assignments, such as MyLabStatistics.
