Adjunct Instructor of Psychology, Beginning Spring Semester 2026 (Pool Posting)
Ohio University is seeking part-time adjunct instructors to teach in-person undergraduate Psychology courses at its Regional Campuses, including Chillicothe, Eastern (St. Clairsville, OH), Lancaster, Southern (Ironton, OH), and Zanesville. Positions may involve teaching courses such as PSY 1110 (Elementary Statistical Reasoning), PSY 2110 (Statistics for the Behavioral Sciences), PSY 1010 (General Psychology), and PSY 2410 (Child and Adolescent Psychology).
Course Descriptions:
- PSY 1110: Introduction to research methodology and descriptive and inferential statistics, emphasizing practical reasoning skills for everyday life.
- PSY 2110: Introduction to descriptive and inferential statistics, with emphasis on inferential statistics. No credit for both 2110 and certain other courses like MATH 2500.
- PSY 1010: Survey of topics in experimental and clinical psychology, including physiological bases of behavior, sensation, perception, learning, memory, human development, social processes, personality, and abnormal behavior.
- PSY 2410: Basic principles of human development from the prenatal period through adolescence, covering physical, cognitive, and socioemotional development. No credit if certain other courses have been taken.
Instructors may teach from 3 to 11 credit hours per term, with possibilities for various delivery modes including in-person, hybrid, or via technology. This is a part-time position eligible for sick leave and retirement benefits.
Minimum Qualifications:
- For 1000-level courses: Master's degree in Psychology or a Master's degree with 18 semester credit hours of psychology-relevant graduate coursework, earned prior to start of appointment.
- For 2000-level and above courses: Ph.D. in Psychology, earned prior to start of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- For 1000-level courses: Ph.D. in Psychology.
