Administrative Assistant - Financial Aid

The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina is seeking an Administrative Assistant for the Office of Financial Aid. This role will be responsible for essential office operations and the following:

• Maintains automated and manual financial aid records for each student applying for financial aid, to ensure audit trail and provide necessary documentation for local, state, and federal report, this also includes; corresponding with students regarding incomplete records and current requirement statuses as well as monitoring and maintaining individual student records regarding outside resources, loans, and scholarship checks.
• Updates our system of record (Banner) from collected affidavits and documents such as income tax forms and financial aid transcripts.
• Assists counselors in financial aid processing tasks including audit data collection, internal award review, student eligibility reviews, and general scholarship maintenance tasks.
• Responds to external requests from agencies for financial aid information about individuals (transcripts). Follows established guidelines and exercises discretion about the release of confidential information in accordance with Federal guidelines (FERPA).

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have a high school diploma or higher. Previous administrative experience required. Must be proficient in Word, Excel, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in higher education. Previous experience in a financial aid office setting. Banner experience a plus.
