Job Description

Under direct supervision, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Engaging with the community to provide financial aid and general college information to prospective, returning students and/or parents regarding the financial aid process.
- Working with supervisors in complex situations regarding students/parents to create lasting relationships.
- Reviewing documents to ensure they are complete/accurate and data entry documenting receipt.
- Follow up by phone and/or email with students/parents if any documents are not legible for scanning.
- Scan documents and ensure copy scanned is clear and legible before filing them into students record for further processing.
- Rigorously protect student and family's personal identification and data and adhere to sound safety/security practices.
- Participate in meetings and training sessions.
- Committed to fostering an environment that's welcoming, inclusive, and respectful and working in a team environment.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- CSN is a multi-campus environment, this position may be required to occasionally work at North Las Vegas or Henderson campuses as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Financial Aid or high-traffic Student Service area preferred.
Weekly Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Starting Salary
Classified Grade 25 Step 1 - $42,636.96
This position is contingent upon ongoing and available funding.
Per Nevada Administrative Code (NAC 284.170), salaries for initial appointments for classified positions typically begin at Step 1.
