"Administrative Assistant"

Under the direct supervision of our Medical Director, the Administrative Officer 2 position serves as the department's administrative support for the research and academic activities of our faculty. The position interacts with UCSF and ZSFG administrative units and interacts directly with department faculty to assist their research and academic needs. This may include assistance with IRB/CHR submissions, managing Material Transfer Agreements, transfer of pathology materials intended for research, database searches, and assisting faculty with purchasing and compliance issues.

The incumbent supplies academic support in the form of scheduling and meeting management, submission of academic forms and applications, assists with preparing publications and presentations and is assigned other projects as needed by the Department's Medical Director.

Duties also include administrative support for laboratory operations (ordering, protocol tracking, safety coordination, lab organization, equipment maintenance, and research administration support); collaborates with research staff to facilitate studies.

Experience in a UCSF academic, research administrative setting and familiarity with laboratory techniques is strongly preferred. Familiarity with UCSF information, purchasing and accounting systems is helpful.
