The University of Evansville’s Office of Admission is seeking a full-time Admission Specialist. This role supports the daily operations of the admission process and ensures the smooth handling of prospective student information, communications, and materials. The Admission Specialist oversees data entry and mailings, assists admission counselors with travel preparation, maintains inventory of publication materials, manages inquiries from the admission website, and provides front-line support for incoming calls. In addition, this position supervises work-study students and provides general office support as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the inquiry and applicant data entry process, ensuring accuracy and consistency in records.
- Print, process, and oversee the mailing of admission correspondence.
- Send confirmation letters and ship travel materials to support admission counselor travel.
- Oversee publication material inventory and ensure availability of supplies.
- Monitor and respond to emails received from the admission website.
- Direct incoming calls through the Office of Admission switchboard.
- Train, supervise, and oversee work-study students.
- Assist with workflow, personnel training, and the development of manuals and training materials related to the application process.
- Provide general office duties and other assigned tasks to support the Admission team.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three years of professional experience.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage with prospective students, families, and the campus community.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and proactively.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical requirements include light lifting, manual dexterity for computer use, and the ability to work for extended periods in a sedentary role.
