Job Description: W. P. Carey School of Business is seeking an energetic, service oriented and self-motivated person to work on its Enrollment and Engagement team as a Manager, Enrollment. The Enrollment team works to recruit qualified individuals and assist them through the undergraduate admission and enrollment process. Under administrative direction, the Manager will plan, promote, and manage a broad spectrum of undergraduate first year and transfer student recruitment activities and programs to cultivate a diverse pool of student applicants for the W. P. Carey School of Business. This position will report into the W. P. Carey School of Business Director of Enrollment and Engagement. Under general supervision, the Manager of Enrollment, develops and coordinates undergraduate student recruitment functions to include recruitment campaigns, events, admissions, and cultivating community partnerships. Controls planning and ensures that recruitment program goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with School/College priorities. Performs duties for the Director in his/her absence and other duties as assigned.

Days and Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Some evenings and weekends will be required. While based on the Tempe campus, individual must be willing and able to travel to multiple campus locations in the Phoenix metropolitan area.

Position Salary Range: $58,000; to commensurate with education and experience

Essential Duties:

  • Develops, coordinates, and implements strategic plans for the recruitment of undergraduate students
  • Directly supervise Enrollment Coordinator professional staff members
  • Assists in the coordination and direction of a team of Student Recruitment Coordinators
  • Serves as point of contact for prospective students and families, acts as a liaison with the community, students, faculty and staff in facilitating college/department recruitment plan
  • Coordinates recruitment programs and events for college/department
  • Represents the college/department and serves on various department and university committees
  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with lead faculty members, community partners, businesses, community colleges, high schools and organizations identified in the student recruitment plan
  • Develops, plans, and facilitates workshops, meetings, recruitment events, campus tours and presentations with high impact on program; coordinates logistics, scheduling and participant communications
  • Maintains contact with prospective students and families; assists with admission process, registration procedures
  • Responds to student questions and concerns in a timely manner
  • Works collaboratively with academic units and services throughout the University to facilitate student support
  • Assist in the development, editing and distribution of recruitment and marketing items, brochures, and documents
  • Initiates and prepares administrative reports and documents
  • Works closely with faculty and staff to meet recruitment goals
  • Access recruitment programs and events for effectiveness
  • Attend local and statewide seminars, events, workshops and conferences
  • Recommends and monitors compliance with department policies and procedures
  • Initiates and prepares administrative reports

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND five (5) years of related administrative experience, which includes three (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of organization and program administration
  • Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices
  • Demonstrated knowledge of recruiting and admission strategies
  • Skill in developing and maintaining effective working relationships
  • Demonstrated use of problem-solving skills; critical thinking; time management skills; and strong ability to rapidly adapt and effectively utilize new technology, practices, and policies
  • Ability to stimulate changes in individual, institutional, and team behaviors to create a more efficient and effective environment
  • Ability to lead by example in communicating, participating and encouraging support of the department and institution’s programs and goals
  • Experience in managing budgets for recruiting and admissions. Responsible for managing payments and making budget adjustments as necessary
  • Experience using organization, detailed-oriented skills while prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast-paced, service-focused, team-based environment
  • Skill in designing presentation materials with an understanding of the audience as well as the ability to present materials to a diverse audience
  • Knowledge of marketing and communication techniques for students and families
  • Demonstrated use of effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience using CRM databases and student information computer systems (i.e. PeopleSoft, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Ability to work effectively in an environment subject to tight deadlines and potentially conflicting priorities

Working Environment: Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds. Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities that may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts. Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions. This position requires significant evening and weekend work.

Flexible work options: Hybrid work is an arrangement where employees spend a minimum of 60% of their regular work week at their primary ASU work location. Dean or vice president-level approval is required.
