Position Summary:

The Admissions and Recruitment Specialist serves as a dynamic ambassador for Mountwest Community & Technical College, leading recruitment efforts to attract, engage, and enroll prospective students. This position plays a vital role in supporting the institution's enrollment goals by building relationships with prospective students, families, high school counselors, and community organizations, while guiding applicants through the admissions process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Recruitment & Outreach:
• Represent Mountwest at high schools, college fairs, community events, and other recruitment activities.
• Conduct presentations to promote Mountwest’s programs, services, and student life to diverse audiences.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with high school counselors, community organizations, and other stakeholders to strengthen recruitment pipelines.
• Participate in on-campus recruitment events such as open houses, campus tours, information sessions, etc.
• Admissions Counseling:
• Provide guidance to prospective students and families regarding academic programs, application procedures, and financial aid options.
• Assist students with completing applications and resolving admissions-related issues.
• Follow up with applicants at various stages of the admissions process to ensure a seamless and supportive experience.
• Data Management & Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of recruitment activities and applicant information in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
• Analyze recruitment trends and provide regular updates on progress toward enrollment goals.
• Utilize data to inform strategies for improving outreach and conversion rates.
• Collaboration & Teamwork:
• Work closely with other departments, including Student Services and Academic Divisions, to facilitate the enrollment process.
• Work closely with community organizations to promote Mountwest and programs.
• Oversee student ambassador program.
• Travel & Event Participation:
• Travel regularly to recruitment events, including evening and weekend commitments as needed.
• Serve as a liaison between the college and prospective students during off-campus events.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Required:
• An Associate's degree plus 1-2 years of related experience, or a Bachelor's degree.
• Strong communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new technological software.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Preferred:
• Previous experience in admissions, recruitment, or a related field.
• Knowledge of higher education systems, particularly community and technical colleges.
• Experience working with diverse student populations.

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time, on-site position that is expected to travel and will have occasional evening or weekend responsibilities, as needed. The role requires regular interaction with potential students, students, community members, and high school counselors in a dynamic, fast-paced office environment. Must have regular and reliable transportation. A driver's license is required.
