"ARCNL Group Leader and VU Faculty Positions"

ARCNL is seeking two group leaders with experimental or modeling/theoretical focus to lead research programs aligned with ARCNL's portfolio and ASML's challenges in nanolithography. The roles combine group leader positions at ARCNL with faculty positions at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

Job Summary: Conduct fundamental physics and materials research inspired by semiconductor technology challenges. The ideal candidate is an energetic researcher who embraces public-private partnerships and collaborations.

Responsibilities:

• Initiate a novel research program aligned with ASML and ARCNL's science program.
• Establish and maintain collaboration with ASML Research.
• Collaborate with other ARCNL groups and direct group members.
• Manage budget, planning, and quality of projects.
• Publish in leading international journals and present at conferences.
• Develop external relations and acquire funding.
• Contribute to teaching programs at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• PhD in physics, chemistry, materials science, or related discipline.
• Strong academic track record in atomic, molecular, plasma, or instrumental physics, materials sciences, or physical chemistry.
• Enthusiasm for university-level teaching and demonstrable didactic abilities.
• Experience supervising students and attracting external funding.
• Excellent communication skills and command of English; willingness to learn Dutch.
• Experience with industry-academia collaborations is advantageous.
