Working closely with the Head of Medical Assessment, Module Leads, clinical partners, and the central University Exams Team, the postholder will manage assessment-related activities across both academic and clinical settings.

  • Manage the end‑to‑end assessment cycle: scheduling, logistics, candidate communications, liaison with examiners, and processing of results.
  • Provide operational leadership on assessment days to ensure smooth delivery of written, clinical, and digital examinations.
  • Ensure assessment policies, processes, and documentation fully align with GMC standards and university academic regulations.
  • Oversee academic misconduct cases, policies and procedures for the School of Medicine.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Significant experience of assessment management in higher education, including the coordination of formal examinations.
  • Experience of operational management in undergraduate education.
  • Knowledge of medical education in the UK and of recent and current issues influencing its direction.
  • Experience in liaising with external bodies (e.g., regulators, partners).
  • Experience of supporting students in complex or difficult situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to deal effectively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver effective outcomes.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload, stay calm under pressure and meet deadlines.

To apply for the role, please submit an online application form with your CV and supporting statements explaining how your qualifications, skills and experience fulfil the essential criteria for the job.
