APPOINTMENT DATE:
August 2026
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach applied trombone at the undergraduate and graduate levels
- Teach weekly studio classes; conduct the Trombone Choir
- Lead weekly chamber music coachings
- Teach trombone methods course for music education majors
- Present solo recitals and collaborative performances with faculty
- Maintain active involvement in the Brass Area’s recruiting efforts and auditions
- Team-teach Brass Literature and Pedagogy course (biannually)
- Participate in School of Music and University service as appropriate
- Engage in significant professional and creative activities and/or research within the discipline, and contribute to the intellectual life and mission of Baylor University and the School of Music
RANK AND SALARY
Full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor
Rank and salary competitive and commensurate with experience
Qualifications
- Master of Music degree required; Doctorate or equivalent professional experience preferred.
- Teaching experience at the university level is required; preference may be given to candidates with a proven record of recruitment and student success.
- Documented and sustained levels of professional performance experience is required.
- All School of Music faculty are expected to demonstrate commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment for our students.
