APPOINTMENT DATE:

August 2026

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach applied trombone at the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Teach weekly studio classes; conduct the Trombone Choir
  • Lead weekly chamber music coachings
  • Teach trombone methods course for music education majors
  • Present solo recitals and collaborative performances with faculty
  • Maintain active involvement in the Brass Area’s recruiting efforts and auditions
  • Team-teach Brass Literature and Pedagogy course (biannually)
  • Participate in School of Music and University service as appropriate
  • Engage in significant professional and creative activities and/or research within the discipline, and contribute to the intellectual life and mission of Baylor University and the School of Music

RANK AND SALARY

Full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor

Rank and salary competitive and commensurate with experience

Qualifications

  • Master of Music degree required; Doctorate or equivalent professional experience preferred.
  • Teaching experience at the university level is required; preference may be given to candidates with a proven record of recruitment and student success.
  • Documented and sustained levels of professional performance experience is required.
  • All School of Music faculty are expected to demonstrate commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment for our students.
