Assistant Director, Business and Athletics Travel Operations
This position is responsible for a variety of aspects of the daily off-field operations of the varsity sport programs designated for them, to include:
- Facilitating all aspects of team travel (planning, scheduling, budget management, budget forecasting and reconciliation)
- Direct support of various athletic business functions, including budget management, initial processing and review of all expense reports, and select payments to vendors
- Managing the approval and acquisition process for all team-specific technology needs
- Education and implementation of university and athletic department travel policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Training in the department's travel management system
- May include occasional travel with designated teams to postseason competitions
- Serve as a liaison between coaching staff and support units within the department and across campus
Additionally, this person will be the primary liaison for all charter bus companies used by our varsity programs. The position will also work with various departments on campus and within the athletic department to maintain and schedule the van fleet for team competition using proper travel regulations. This position will be responsible for managing local hotel agreements, as well as booking some administrative travel (i.e., conferences, meetings, etc.)

Salary commensurate with relevant experience and full-time equivalent hiring ranges:
- Assistant Director: $59,400 - $74,250; 1-5 years of experience
Requirements
This position requires a bachelor's degree. Experience with Microsoft Excel is required. Experience with PeopleSoft financial system or other related financial systems is required.
This position requires a minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience within intercollegiate athletics or in a business setting. Specific experience in travel management, project management, group planning, logistics, accounting or finance is preferred.
Candidate must have demonstrated functional experience with Microsoft Excel and an understanding or ability to learn PeopleSoft Financial systems. Understanding of intercollegiate athletic travel and finances in addition to a functional knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Experience working with complex spreadsheets, financial reports and in developing financial projections. Ability to work with travel management company technology (Portal) is necessary.
This position will be expected to perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with all NCAA, ACC and Institutional rules.
Position includes both evening and weekend work demands, most often within the September to June period. At times this position communicates between various entities on and off hours. Travel required for postseason competitions at times for extended periods.
