Assistant Professor, Business
General Summary:
Middlesex Community College is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position in the Business Department. This role is for an engaging and knowledgeable instructor to teach courses in Business, Marketing, and/or Management Information Systems (MIS). The faculty member will deliver high-quality instruction in person and/or online at the Bedford and Lowell campuses, fostering a dynamic learning environment that prepares students for academic success and careers in the business field.
Full-time faculty are expected to contribute to teaching, curriculum development, student advising, and college service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach a full course load in the Business department
- Deliver clear, engaging instruction using real-world applications and hands-on learning experiences.
- Promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and career readiness skills.
- Develop and revise course materials including syllabi, assignments, and assessments aligned with program learning outcomes.
- Integrate into curriculum current industry practices, tools, and technologies relevant to business and organizational operations.
- Participate in ongoing curriculum review and program assessment to ensure relevance and quality.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student learning and success.
- Advise students on academic progress, transfer pathways, and career opportunities in business-related fields.
- Maintain accurate academic records and use assessment data to improve instruction.
- Participate in departmental, divisional, and college service, including committee work and program initiatives.
- Collaborate with colleagues on program development and institutional priorities.
- Engage in professional development to remain current in the field.
- Incorporate culturally responsive teaching practices.
- Integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion into course content and pedagogy.
- Support an inclusive learning environment that reflects diverse perspectives in business and society.
Job Requirements:
- Master's degree in Business, Marketing, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a closely related field.
- Minimum of two years of professional experience in business, marketing, or MIS (e.g., marketing strategy, digital marketing, information systems, market research, branding).
- Prior teaching or training experience (e.g., college teaching, corporate training, workshops).
- Proficiency with instructional technology, including Learning Management Systems such as Blackboard or Canvas.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Current knowledge of industry trends, including data analysis, business technologies, digital marketing, and consumer behavior.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching at a community college.
- Experience developing and teaching online or hybrid courses.
- Professional experience using business technologies to support operations, decision making, or marketing efforts.
- Background in data analytics, marketing research, or digital advertising.
- Bilingual skills a plus

Salary Range: $60,483 is the annual starting salary for an Assistant Professor, Column B (Master's Degree); actual salary commensurate with academic background and experience. Employees of Middlesex Community College are considered employees of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and receive benefits, which include: [list of benefits].
Location: Bedford campus with occasional travel to Lowell as needed
