Position Summary: The Kinesiology Department at the State University of New York at Cortland invites applications for a full-time tenure-track assistant professor with a specialization in exercise science. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, research, academic advisement, and service.

Major Responsibilities

Teaching: Provide instruction at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in exercise science. Advise/mentor undergraduate and graduate students.

Scholarship/Research: Implement an active research agenda that leads to nationally/internationally refereed publications and presentations. Pursue external funding for research. Direct graduate/undergraduate research projects.

Service: Provide service to the department, university, and professional organizations.

Functional and Supervisory Relationships: This position reports to the academic department chair and works closely with department faculty.

Required Qualifications

Earned doctorate in the Kinesiology field. Candidates who are ABD may be considered with expected completion of the doctorate within one year from appointment date.

Preferred Qualifications

Specialization in exercise science. Credentialed by relevant professional organizations (e.g., NSCA, ACSM, ISSN, etc.). Demonstrated experience and evidence of university-level teaching. Experience in delivering undergraduate and/or graduate coursework in exercise science.
