Position Summary
The Kinesiology Department at the State University of New York at Cortland invites applications for a full-time tenure-track assistant professor with knowledge of and the ability to apply the Council on Accreditation of Strength and Conditioning Education (CASCE) standards. Responsibilities include serving as the Program Director and Field Experience Coordinator of the CASCE accredited Strength and Conditioning for Human Performance undergraduate program, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, research, academic advisement, and service.

Major Responsibilities
Teaching:
- Provide instruction at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in strength and conditioning
- Advise/mentor undergraduate and graduate students
Scholarship/Research:
- Implement an active research agenda that leads to nationally/internationally refereed publications and presentations
- Pursue external funding for research
- Direct graduate/undergraduate research projects
Service:
- Program Director for the CASCE accredited Strength and Conditioning for Human Performance program
- Field Experience Coordinator for the CASCE accredited Strength and Conditioning for Human Performance program
- Provide service to the department, university, and professional organizations
Functional and Supervisory Relationships
This position reports to the academic department chair and works closely with department faculty.
Required Qualifications
- Earned doctorate in the Kinesiology field. Candidates who are ABD may be considered with expected completion of the doctorate within one year from appointment date
- Hold a current Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credential from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA)
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialization in strength and conditioning
- Experience in delivering undergraduate and/or graduate coursework aligned with CASCE curriculum standards
- Experience supervising academic requirements of students performing internships
- Experience with curriculum and/or program development
- Experience with the CASCE standards as a program director and/or field experience coordinator
