Assistant Professor - Feminist Science Studies
Position Overview
We are seeking a theoretically inventive and methodologically creative tenure-track assistant professor whose scholarship is situated in feminist science studies broadly defined. As an interdisciplinary department, we welcome candidates from a broad range of fields, including science and technology studies, disability studies, critical public health, environmental studies, carceral and surveillance studies, technology and digital media studies, inter alia. Topics of research might include but are not limited to the following: artificial intelligence (AI); AI fluency, especially societal implications and risks of AI from feminist perspectives; algorithmic bias and critical data studies; feminist climate science; environmental justice; climate modeling and feminist refugee studies; feminist critiques of scientific practices, methodologies and epistemologies; technologies of reproduction; surveillance technologies and biometrics; gaming; and the digital divide. Ideal applicants will center transnational, intersectional, and/or decolonial approaches within feminist science studies.
Performance Objectives
- Develop and maintain productive research program
- Teach courses at undergraduate and graduate level
- Demonstrate excellence in student mentorship
- Support department through service on committees, projects, and/or administrative leadership roles
Education and Experience Requirements
Required: PhD prior to appointment on August 15, 2026. ABDs welcome to apply.
Desired: PhD in women's, gender, and/or sexuality studies or in allied fields or disciplines.
