Assistant Professor in the Institute for Biomedical Informatics
The Institute for Biomedical Informatics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the tenure track. Expertise is required in statistical genetics, genetic epidemiology, translational bioinformatics, and/or biomedical informatics as applied to human genetics and genomics.
As Penn Medicine has invested substantially in developing a diverse medical biobank of over 275,000 Penn Medicine patients, candidates with expertise in leveraging biobanks as part of their research program are of high priority. The objective is to enhance understanding of the underlying causes of complex diseases and to catalyze progress in diagnosis, prediction, and treatment.
Applicants must have a Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Research responsibilities include establishing a productive research lab, publishing in top-tier journals, and obtaining external funding. Teaching responsibilities include mentoring graduate and medical students.
