Position Summary:
A full-time, tenure-track faculty position within the Management, Marketing, & Leadership Department of the School of Business, with a particular focus in the sport management and management disciplines.
Essential Duties
Pre-Tenure: Faculty responsibilities will include teaching nine credit hours per semester (fall and spring), as well as advising and mentoring students.
Post-Tenure: Faculty responsibilities will include teaching twelve credit hours per semester (fall and spring), as well as advising and mentoring students.
Secondary Responsibilities
Professional service to the School of Business and La Salle University via participation in standing committees and workgroups.
Required Qualifications
- Earned doctorate (Ph.D. or D.B.A.) in a related discipline from an AACSB-accredited (or similarly recognized) institution by the date of appointment.
- Evidence of potential to meet AACSB standards as a Scholarly Academic (SA) faculty member, including recent or pipeline peer-reviewed journal publications.
- Demonstrated effectiveness or strong potential in teaching undergraduate and/or graduate business courses.
- Ability to engage in sustained, high-quality scholarly research aligned with the school's mission and AACSB expectations.
- Commitment to service within the department, school, and university.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in teaching, research, and service.
- Ability to teach in multiple modalities (e.g., in-person, online, hybrid) as needed.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of La Salle University.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching multiple courses in management, particularly as it relates to sport management (e.g., introduction to sport management, facilities & events management, sports marketing, esports, sports analytics, sports finance, NIL), as well as human resources, operations management, leadership, and organizational behavior. A secondary interest in other fields, such as strategy, socially responsible decision making, or entrepreneurship, would be desirable.
- Evidence of prior business or industry engagement, or ability to bring professional relevance to the classroom.
- Experience or interest in developing curricula or experiential learning opportunities.
- Research or teaching interests aligned with the school's strategic initiatives, including innovation, societal impact, or interdisciplinary business education.
- Ability to contribute to the school's mission of fostering inclusive, socially responsible business leaders.
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours
Teaching days and evenings and in multiple modalities (face-to-face, online, and hybrid) may be necessary. Participation in admissions-related events including but not limited to open houses, student mixers, School of Business-specific events, etc., that may occur on weekends or outside of normal business hours.
