"Assistant Professor of History – Latin America and the World"

The Austin College Department of History invites applications for the tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of History – Latin America and the World. Candidates must have PhD in hand before the position begins in August 2026.

The successful applicant will teach a 3-3 course load plus a January Term class in alternating years. Responsibilities for this position will include single semester survey courses in Latin American History and World History to 1500, as well as intermediate and advanced courses in Latin American history and the successful candidate’s areas of expertise. Teaching and service in this position may support the Professionalism and the Humanities (PATH) program, the Center for Southwestern and Mexican Studies, and other public history and community engagement efforts. A commitment to undergraduate teaching is of high priority.
