Position Summary
The Department of Human Services and Counseling at MSU Denver invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position. This is a 9-month faculty appointment beginning January 2026 or August 2026. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester, including assignments in both undergraduate and graduate programs.
The successful candidate will teach across multiple delivery formats; advise students; and engage in service, scholarship, and partnerships.
Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in mental health and addiction studies. The department values engaged scholarship focused on community impact.
Responsibilities
- Teach graduate-level counseling courses across multiple formats.
- Serve as academic advisor for graduate counseling students.
- Deliver instruction aligned with CACREP standards.
- Contribute to curriculum design and revision.
- Participate in assessment and promote inclusive practices.
- Engage in research, scholarship, and professional service.
- Assist with student recruitment and maintain licensure.
Required Qualifications
- Earned doctorate in Counseling Education and Supervision.
- Current LPC credential.
- Minimum of two years of professional experience in mental health and/or addiction counseling.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three or more years of direct clinical experience.
- Current CAS or LAC credential.
- Demonstrated success in teaching.
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams.
Salary
The salary range is $62,000 - $67,000 at Assistant Professor rank.
