Assistant Professor of Nursing
The School of Nursing at Aurora University invites applications for a full-time assistant professor of nursing for the 2026-2027 academic year. The candidate will provide high-quality instruction to both undergraduate and pre-licensure, direct-entry graduate nursing students in the classroom, clinical, laboratory, and online. The candidate will possess experience and knowledge in nursing education's best practices and will hold an unencumbered RN license in the State of Illinois. This position is a 9-month academic appointment beginning August 24, 2026.

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and pre-licensure, direct-entry graduate courses within the School of Nursing. The successful candidate will also work well in a highly collaborative departmental environment and provide service to the school and the university. The faculty appointment will be assigned to teach 24 semester hours for the academic year and will have opportunities for service and professional growth and development. The faculty will perform all other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Must have an earned Master of Science in Nursing degree from an accredited graduate nursing program and possess an unencumbered RN license from the State of Illinois.
- An earned doctorate (DNP, EdD, PhD) and CNE certification is preferred.
Experience:
- Recent nursing teaching experience (classroom, clinical, simulation laboratory, leadership, research and online) in one or more of the following specialty areas: fundamentals, medical/surgical, critical care, and community.
- Demonstrated knowledge of CCNE Accreditation, AACN Essential Competencies, and NCLEX-RN requirements preferred.
