Position Overview
The Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time tenure stream Assistant Professor position in Nursing. The successful candidate may be appointed as CAMH Chair in Mental Health Nursing Research for a five-year term, renewable following a favorable review.
This role is intended for a clinically engaged nurse scholar with a strong program of research in mental health nursing, emphasizing:
- Healthcare pathways and transitions
- Optimized patient experience
- Implementation of best evidence and emerging practices
- Patient-reported outcomes
- Nursing care for patients with mental health conditions
The Chair is supported by a $2 million endowment, providing resources to integrate research, education, and clinical work.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead an independent, externally funded research program in mental health nursing
- Conduct innovative practice-based research, including digital/remote interventions to improve care
- Supervise, mentor, and teach students at undergraduate and graduate levels
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clinical partners at CAMH
- Promote equity, diversity, and inclusion in teaching, mentorship, and research
- Contribute to the Faculty and University’s strategic goals in research, education, and clinical integration
Qualifications
- Entry-to-practice degree (BScN or MN) in Nursing
- PhD in Nursing or a related discipline
- Eligible for registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching
- Evidence of clinical engagement and contributions to mental health nursing research
- Experience working with or mentoring diverse groups or students
- Ability to foster equity, diversity, and inclusion in academic and clinical settings

Salary & Benefits
- Salary Range: $130,000 – $150,000 CAD per annum, negotiable for exceptional candidates
